2013

Yet another bumper year for the show, with a record 617 exhibits and hundreds of visitors flooding into the Corn Exchange in the afternoon. Here are all the organisers and helpers at 1.00pm, judging completed and ready for the Mayor to open the show to the public. There were heaps of positive comments as well as loads of suggestions for how to make next year's show even better.

This year's theme was our show one hundred years ago. Held in Warner's Park on Thursday 31 July 1913, it was a last day of innocence. In less than one year the first steps towards the nightmare of World War 1 would be taken. Not only would the world change forever and much of the innocence of that July day be gone forever, but some participants of the 1913 show would be directly affected. To read more on that theme, with the stories of some of the participants, click Our Show 100yrs Ago.

You can access a breakdown of exhibitors' section scores ranked by their total score by clicking here. For the really figure conscious reader, you can view the average score per exhibit each exhibitor achieved here. There's also a summary of the exhibit numbers; for the section totals click here, or for a summary of the totals for each class click here. Finally, here are a couple of graphs (click to enlarge).

The exhibitors are spread over a good range of age bands

Congratulations to the winners of the 2013 show, the runners up and all the entrants for their magnificent exhibits. Here are the results...

And finally, there would be no show at all without the valued support of our sponsors. If you're considering a purchase, please buy local and support the businesses who supported us with adverts in the show programme, donations of prizes or discounts on supplies or services. Here's the happy team (missing Matthew) who worked hard throughout the year to put on the show... ready to go home 9.00pm Friday!

Let the judging commence! Here are Sarah and Denise giving the preserves & produce section the once over.
Just a few of the magnificent exhibits in the vegetable section.
